Discover Our Favorite Local Sights

Want to explore beyond the tourist traps? Here are our top hand-picked recommendations within a short drive of the farm:

Gargilesse-Dampierre (20 mins away)

Officially one of “The Most Beautiful Villages in France.” This stunning, romantic stone village was once home to the writer George Sand and has been a haven for painters for centuries. Perfect for an afternoon stroll.

Château de Valençay (50 mins north)

A breathtaking Renaissance castle with spectacular gardens. Once home to Napoleon’s diplomat Talleyrand, it is one of the most elegant estates in Central France.

⛵ Lake Eguzon & the Creuse Valley (25 mins south)

The perfect spot for active days. Enjoy sandy lakeside beaches, rent a paddleboard or kayak, or hike along the dramatic rocky cliffs of the Creuse River.

Argenton-sur-Creuse (10 mins away)

Known as the “Venice of the Berry” due to its picturesque old houses overhanging the Creuse River. Stroll across the old bridges, visit the Roman ruins of Argentomagus, and enjoy an ice cream by the water.

Experience a Traditional Weekly Market

There is nothing quite like a French morning market. Wake up early, grab a basket, and stock up on local cheeses, fresh baguettes, and ripe melons. Here is where to go:

Saturday Morning – Argenton-sur-Creuse

Our personal favorite! A bustling, vibrant market right in the historic center.

Thursday Morning – Eguzon-Chantôme

A lovely, smaller market filled with friendly local producers from the Creuse valley.

Wednesday & Saturday Morning – Châteauroux

The largest market in the department, held at the Halles de Châteauroux, perfect for serious food lovers.

Plan Your Visit

If you are on your way to the South of France or heading back north toward Paris and the ferry ports, our farm is the ultimate pit-stop. No need to settle for boring motorway service stations.
