As we move deeper into the year, life at Earl Les Fromentaux is busier than ever. Our philosophy remains simple: “We grow what we feed.” By harvesting our own crops to raise our Angus and Limousin cattle, we ensure the quality you’ve come to expect from a professional local producer.

This year marks an exciting chapter for our Farm Shop and our “Farm to Fork” restaurant. We are celebrating the rhythm of the seasons with menus crafted from our own harvest. Whether it’s a slow-grown Limousin steak or a seasonal delight, every plate tells the story of our land in Celon, Indre.

We invite you to visit us 6 minutes from the A20 to see the progress of “the girls” and stock up on fresh farm produce.

How it all started in 2016

2016 presented a lot of new avenues that I, Sue, really wanted to follow. But I simply didn’t have enough hours in the day to do it all on my own.  I am now joined by Ellen who has quickly become my right hand ‘man’ (so to speak!).

Last year also saw the start of The Farmhouse Kitchen and the Pie Nights, which I’m delighted to say were an immediate success – our steak pies have gone down a treat!  In addition to the pies, we also take Sausages and Bacon to buy on the night and any pre-ordered meat for collection on the same evening. These new Pop-Up shops are working really well – you’ll find details of the next events on our Facebook page, but usually Le Champsac on the 3rd Saturday of the month, and in Saint-Léger-Magnazeix on the 2nd Tuesday of every month.

From March, we’ll also be offering lunches at the farm and private dining for up to 30 people.

Very important to me has always been the outside catering that we can offer, and last year we did our first few weddings!!  It was a little daunting at the start but we love doing them and the atmosphere is fabulous. We’ve had such lovely reviews too, it’s given us a real buzz to know how much people have really enjoyed the food.

After doing a very small amount of advertising, we have now booked a number of catering events for 2017 and some for 2018, so if you would be interested in us catering your event then getting in touch sooner rather than later would be advised.
